Georgia Dome

From 1935 to 1974 Tulane Stadium was the host site for the Sugar Bowl. The game was moved into the Louisiana Superdome in 1975. Because of the devastation of hurricane Katrina, the Sugar Bowl moved to the Georgia Dome in 2006.

The Louisiana Superdome, home of the Nokia Sugar Bowl, has been hailed as one of the best sports facilities in the United State. The Superdome is the home stadium for the New Orleans Saints and has been the site of six Super Bowls. Located in downtown New Orleans, the Superdome has also hosted the NCAA Final Four, the NCAA Regionals, and is also the site of the newly created New Orleans Bowl. Built on 52 acres, the Superdome can seat 72,000 football fans under its 9.7 acre roof.

In addition to sporting events, the Louisiana Superdome provides the New Orleans area with a first class facility for a variety of events. The Krewe of Endymion regularly holds its Mardi Gras extravaganza under the roof of the Superdome. The Rolling Stones played before 87,500 fans in 1981 in the Superdome, the largest rock concert ever held indoors, and in 1987 the Superdome saw Pope John Paul II speak to 80,000 school children.

The Georgia Dome in Atlanta, Georgia, is home to the 2006 Cotton Bowl.

Driving directions to the Georgia Dome are found below, but to avoid delays and traffic congestion the city of Atlanta would prefer you use the efficient public transport system to attend the Cotton Bowl game.

From I-37/HWY 281 take the Georgia Dome/Durango St Exit.
