The inaugural game of the Alamo Bowl featured a match-up between the Big 10 Iowa Hawkeyes, led by Hayden Frey, and the PAC 10’s University of California’s Golden Bears. Bears quarterback Dave Carr turned in a stellar performance, leading the Bears to a 37-3 win behind his 21 of 28 passing performance that netted three touchdowns and 266 yards in the air.
